  • The six stages, from first conversation to your cask's future

Casks start from €4,500. The brochure sets out how allocations are structured and what is included.

Our approach

Beyond traditional whiskey investment

Traditional brokers operate purely as intermediaries. This is the first time collectors and investors can buy directly from the creators, and join the master blender for the full maturation journey.

Elite experiences

Invitations to exclusive tastings, blending sessions and the final bottle release celebration — access no broker is in a position to offer.

Genuine involvement

Every time your whiskey is considered for recasking you receive a sample, with detailed tasting notes explaining the decision being weighed.

Unmatched transparency

Full sight of the maturation methodology, the wood selection and the flavour development — the things that actually shape what your cask is worth.

Direct ownership

You buy from the creators rather than an intermediary, and the man who created The Donn guides every decision along the way.

The Donn Journey

Hear it from Jay Bradley

The man behind the whiskey on the casks, the decisions, and what seven years of maturation actually involves.

Investment potential

Unprecedented craft. Unmatched potential.

Every owner receives a cask that is already a year old, which then undergoes at least four further recasking stages. This level of intervention and curation has not been offered in the whiskey world before.

Maturation process
Each cask is assessed individually at key stages across nearly seven years, and moved into new wood — tawny port, Pedro Ximénez sherry, virgin Hungarian oak — where the spirit calls for it. Some are left undisturbed. No two journeys are identical.
What shapes value
Long-term value in this category is driven by rarity, provenance and craft. The Donn Journey applies the same flavour-led philosophy behind the world's #1 single malt five years running. The full process — cask selection, recasking decisions, and the choices made at maturity — is set out in the brochure.

Cask whiskey is an unregulated, illiquid asset. Values can fall as well as rise and past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.

Security and safeguards

Secure storage. Complete protection.

Your cask is a physical asset held in a bonded, insured and monitored facility in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.

Bonded warehouse

Licensed and regulated under UK excise law, in a facility that meets the highest industry standards for whiskey storage.

Full insurance cover

Comprehensive insurance included for six years, covering fire, theft, contamination and accidental damage.

Casks are held in your name

Ownership is registered to you directly, with formal confirmation and a certificate of ownership issued in your name — not held through a broker, a nominee or a pooled scheme.

Visit your whiskey

Site visits can be arranged in advance for owners who would like to see their cask in person.

Questions

The things people ask first

Do I have to take a sales call to receive the brochure?

No. The Donn Journey brochure is delivered to your inbox within two minutes of submitting the form, with no obligation to speak to anyone. If you would like to discuss availability afterwards, you can book a 20-minute consultation at a time that suits you.

What exactly am I buying when I invest in a whiskey cask?

Direct ownership of physical whiskey casks, with full legal documentation and a certificate of ownership in your name. Each allocation begins with six 200-litre bourbon casks of new-make spirit. Over nearly seven years each cask is assessed individually and moved into new wood where the spirit calls for it, so no two journeys are identical.

How is this different from other whiskey investment companies?

This is the first time investors can buy directly from the creators rather than through an intermediary. You receive real samples, tasting notes and visibility of Jay Bradley's decision-making at each recasking stage, instead of an annual statement from a broker who never touches the cask.

What are the risks, and how long should I hold?

Cask whiskey carries genuine risk and is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Values can fall as well as rise, and the asset is illiquid — how quickly you can sell depends on market conditions at the time. We suggest planning for a minimum seven-year hold, and treating whiskey as a small part of a diversified portfolio rather than a core holding. Please take independent advice before committing.

Is my cask insured and secure?

Yes. Comprehensive insurance is included for six years, covering fire, theft, contamination and accidental damage. Your cask is held in a fully bonded, UK-licensed facility in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, with advanced tracking and the option of arranging a personal visit.

What are my exit options when maturation is complete?

There are several routes: selling the matured cask, participating in the final bottle release, or continuing to hold. Which makes most sense depends on the market at the time and on your own circumstances. We guide owners through the options, but no particular outcome or return can be promised in advance — the brochure sets out how each route works.

What happens if Craft Irish Whiskey ceases operations?

You keep full ownership of your cask, with complete legal documentation and certificates. The cask is stored independently in a bonded warehouse and you have the right to move it to another facility. Your ownership stands regardless of what happens to the company.
